The project „Humans of Eritrea“ aims at reopening the Eritrean society and make you navigate through this community which arrived in several waves. The first wave generally fled during the liberation war between 1961 and 1991. The following waves, from the years 2000 to the present day, generally flee the political repression.

Since the 2000s, self-censorship has become the norm within the Eritrean society. IFE is thus committed to breaking this law of silence and to make you discover the faces and the voices within this society.
